Gaga härstammar från idén om rörelsens dynamiska, läkande och ständigt föränderliga kraft, utvecklad av israeliska Batsheva Dance Company’s konstnärliga ledare Ohad Naharin. Metoden ger oss möjlighet att utforska och upptäcka kroppens oändliga rörelsemöjligheter, utmana våra vanor och ovanor samtidigt som vi kommer i kontakt med våra sinnen och inre fantasier.

ARTmovement är en konstnärlig mötesplats som skapar möjligheter för nyanlända och etablerade svenskar att uttrycka sig. Vi har tillsammans med Studiefrämjandet Stockholms län fått stöd av Allmänna Arvsfonden för att under tre år arbeta med konstnärliga mötesplatser.

Gaga Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin throughout many years, parallel to his work as a choreographer and artistic director (1990-2018) of Batsheva Dance Company. Gaga originated from Naharin’s need to communicate with his dancers and his curiosity in the ongoing research of movement. The Gaga movement language originated from the belief in the healing, dynamic, everchanging power of movement, developed by Batsheva Dance Company’s artistic director Ohad Naharin. The method offers a framework for discovering and strengthening the body, for challenging our movement habits and exploring the endless possibilities in a gentle way while lightening our senses and imagination. Gaga offers a workout that develops flexibility, stamina, agility, coordination, and efficiency of movement. The exploration of form, speed, and effort is accompanied by the playful investigation of soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive power, and understatement and exaggeration.
